Aurelia B20GT 4th Series wheel colour

Could anybody help me please with a paint code for the cream colour which Aurelia B20GT 4th Series hollow rim steel wheels were originally painted with please?
Also, is this colour the same for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Series B20's with hollow rim steel wheels?

The wheel colour is Ford Alpaca Beige, Ford numbers CT,  MAT, or 2B.  ICI code NT 70.  This is the correct colour for 4th series B20.

Thanks everyone. I am away at the moment and it is the last 'paintwork' job on my current B20 project. Brilliant to get this sorted from the beach so quickly.

Chris - I agree that Alpaca Beige is the one to use for the 4th series ( and the 2nd series). It's not the lighter shades used on later cars ( and referred to as avorio chantilly in the link above). The Lechler reference I have is CT Alpaca XSC 2025 - I have the formula on the swatch here if you need it. Enjoy your holiday!

Interesting to note that there was a color change. I have seen on a Lancia finish schedule the color "bianco argenteo" for B20s after #3697.... Is that the Avorio Chantilly you are referencing? As to the Alpaca Beige - new one - and what recommends its use?

The Ardea web site says that Lechler can supply the exact ivory colour for Ardea wheels, see:

I don't know if this has any reference to Aurelia wheels. I would say that Bianco Argenteo is unlikely to be an ivory wheel colour, meaning as it does "silvery white".

You are right - silvery white makes little sense, and the Avorio is close.

Looking at the paint numbers on the site is a bit curious. Some match up with Lechler's early 1990 sheet about paints for vintage cars, and others don't, FWIW.

GG -  re your post of 6th August. My sources were the Italian Registro, after they had discussed with Aurelia restorers, so I am comfortable that the info is as good as we can get 60 years later. The 4th series wheel centres were medium beige, whatever the body colour, which was used on the wheel rims. The reference to Avoro Chantilly was to contrast the beige with the much paler colour used on the Flaminia wheels.

Continuing this topic, unless I missed it somewhere, is the 3rd series wheel colour palette the same as the 4th, i.e beige centre and body colour rim (in my case a black car)?

Slight aside

The Club Appia website in Italy states that one of the colour schemes for the furgoncino was also Avorio chantilly with Verde Ardea (they appear to have all been 2 tone). Lechler and Meyer codes are also listed.

However the wheels appear to be another colour again. One of the wheels is still untouched on the inside, so I will polish it and get a spectro of the colour and see how it matches up with the other colours you have mentioned above.

Clive - I'm quite certain that the 3rd series wheel colour scheme is NOT the same as the 4th series. But, I'm not so certain as to what the 3rd series should be......is the whole wheel the same colour as the body? or is the whole wheel beige? ( But not the same as 4th beige).

I THINK 3rd Series B20 (and 1st and 2nd) wheels were cream/beige all over and I am not totally convinced (yet) that all 4th series had 2 colour wheels.
Having said that, my project early 4th Series is having cream/beige centres and body colour rims because they will look great!

I confirm that on my black 3rd series B20 wheels are unicolor, and a very whitish beige.
My car was restored for a connoisseur beginning of the 90ies, and the car was done right, with expert advice from the Registro Aurelia.
It is not currently at home, so I cannot check the approximate color of the wheel with a RAL-chart.
The photo will have to suffice for now!

I can also show photos of unicolored cream 4th series B20 wheels (generally on blue celeste cars)
And unicolored 4th series wheels in the same color as the body (a "testa di moro" car)

And then there are unicolored wheels with chrome trim rings, also very nice.

So basically, there seems to be an esthetic element to answer that question, and one should decide according to the color of the body!
