Vauxhall Star Silver!   Vauxhall Corsa I think.

Hi Robin

Having had a few Star Silver Corsas (don't ask but they do the job) Star Silver is too bright ie not enough grey...

I guess it would look ok though if nothing else comes out of the wood work.

Hi Tim,

Check out the Fanalone at the AGM - we think it's a pretty good colour and chugga recommended it!  Cool

I bought a set of Cromadora wheels for my Fulvia a while back.  They need refurbishing and I'd appreciate any advice on two issues:

1) Does anybody know of a good wheel refurbisher/finisher in the North of England.  I live in West Lancashire but would be willing to take them anywhere in a 100 mile radius that can do a good job.   They were badly finished by a previous owner and have significant blistering so probably need chemical stripping or (gentle?) blasting.

2) Does anybody know the correct grey/silver colour for painting the wheels?   An earlier Forum thread talked about this but was not conclusive.  A Vauxhall color was recommended by one person, but challenged by another.

Try this thread:

I used Ian Jemison for my Cromadoras and can recommend him; but he won’t use filler – so if they’ve had knock-on weights and the rims have suffered from galvanic corrosion they’ll be pitted – battle scars!

Whilst we’re on about wheel colours – does anyone know a RAL / colour reference for S2/3 STEEL wheels, the grey/silver. I had to touch up some rust bits/chips on a couple of the wheels and tried various manufacturers aerosols and all were way too silver, even Eastwood’s Argent Silver Wheel Paint, so I ended up making my own colour adding Humbrol Grey enamel to the Eastwood Silver.
