What a great day!

"Strictly" (aka Flavia Vignale PYG 321K) put her dancing shoes on and drove the 110 miles to Towcester Racecourse (great venue) for the start of the 2013 Hagerty Drive it tour.

Apart from a few F cars Strictly was as far as I could see the only other Italian marque, With the sun shining (it was cold though until the day progressed) it was hood down and off for a 65 mile tour round Northampton - what great empty roads. With over 100 cars on the event I was expecting a slow procession but most of the time Sarah was having fun on the open road (yes I was navigating so maybe we went alternative routes - only joking).

A great run that finished at Siverstone with complimentary entry and access to Silverstone Racing Club. Some great VSCC racing to watch as well...

Spotted in the Paddock Car park was Glyn's lovely red HF, John's georgeous Lambda, and Tony's beautiful B20. Shame Sarah and I didnt bump into you guys....

Modestine was out and about all weekend and yesterday we encountered in excess of 30 classic cars but sadly none of them Lancia nor indeed  vintage. Super weather and the old girl ran perfectly instilling confidence in us for the planned events of the summer.

There were about 20 plus Vintage and PVTs at the VSCC lunch at The Boat Inn Erbistock near Wrexham. Don's Artena was there to represent the Lancias, and I was there in my S car, as you would say Tim. (1928 Sunbeam actually) An excellent day and quite a few interesting cars - and tractors - on the road yesterday!

Well Adrian you could hardly turn up in your Aurelia when you have a more VSCC appropriate vehicle. I hope you got your Lancia out during the day though anyway....

Certainly did - and it's going to the North Wales Rally this Friday! I do like your Vignale - good colour

While I had the hood down today and rambled around Essex marvelling at the simplicity of it all I think the weather this weekend in Wales and UK wil mean no soft top (well mine anyway) appearing at St Asaph!

I have very fond memories of my Vignale, but they weren't universally admired thirty years ago when some people who should have known better rather looked down on them. One well known race-preparation expert referred to them as "Big-nasties"!
