I have just bought an Aprilia engine as part of a lot, MOT 97*533 - suggests it is quite an early one. I can't lay my hands on engine production dates ( probably being a bit dense !) can anyone point me in the right direction ?

Many thanks

I don't know of any info on engine production dates. From what I can gather they started at 1. There is a car down here with engine no. 579, that has construction number 386. 1937 numbers went from 1 to 3900. So I'm guessing it would have been made in the first couple of months of production.
