Theo - agreed, it was a rather splendid lunch.  Thanks for taking some pics and posting.  Not sure about the shade-wearing wannabe socialite that keeps getting in shot though.

Credit to Geoff for organising the event, with assistance from Peter too.

Thanks to all that drove over for the social lunch, some from as far afield as Enfield!!!!

A great show of cars, old and new.

I did little more than turn up and enjoy the conversation, Lancia and the sunshine.  Cool

A nice Sunday
A nice, but expensive Sunday! It wasn't just a big end.
Regards, John

What would cause such a drastic break like that? A little fault in the crank that has gradually grown or just fatigue after years of stresses?

There are lots of possible reasons, including its age. Trouble is, that's the second Augusta crank I've broken in about 5 years and one Lambda crank last September. There was also an Appia back in the distant past! Possible reasons include running the cars on fewer cylinders than normal for a while (for various reasons!) and having reground cranks with abrupt corners, rather than the recommended 2 mm minimum radius. There's much discussion going on in Lambda and Augusta circles.

Cheesy we were joined today by a new face, Keith, who despite having been an LMC member for many years wasn't known to the usual local crowd.
We were very pleased to meet Keith and even happier to meet his splendid Integrale Evo 2.
We hope to see Keith and his 'Grale at Goodwood

Dear Hampshire* LMC Member

(*and neighbouring counties)

For the July regional meeting (Tuesday 1st July) we shall be trialling a recently refurbished pub not too far from our current venue.

The pub in question is The Ropley (formerly called The Anchor), situated on the A31at the junction with the Petersfield Rd to Ropley.  The pub is located next to a Shell petrol station (convenient if you've burned up a tank of fuel zipping between the roundabouts just west of our destination).

I have included directions (attached) and look forward to seeing some of you there.  Please alert other members who you believe will be making an appearance this month, who otherwise might turn up at The Holiday Inn instead.

Should The Ropley be well received by the congregation, we would look to make this our new base as it offers something a little less clinical than the current venue.

Regards and safe driving.

Mark.

Many thanks to Peter and Barbara for suggesting their local as an alternative venue for this month's meet. The Ropley provided a very nice setting, good food and commendable service. Thanks to all that attended including the two Geoffs, Donald, Jeremy and of course Pat.
Lancias present were Lambda, Ypsilon, Gamma Coupe, Kappa Coupe and Integrale Smiley

I'll be there (if I can find the correct pub.....  Undecided  Grin )

I know Theo. Frustrating. Not my doing though, more a steer from members. With any luck it'll one day end up near you in North London!
