The following was requested to be published in VL this month but for some reason it hasn't so I will publish on the forum in advance of a future publication in VL:

Fulvia Knights Rally to Turin

I am trying to organise with Lancisti friends in Europe a small trip to Turin for Fulvias in September 2013 to celebrate this fantastic car's 50th anniversary.

The concept: an informal, not perfectly organized, free flow Rally towards Torino.

To quote Daniel Pottier: “It is really the original idea of a RALLY in the middle-ages, knights gathering in a place to pay their respect or go to war .”

Can you picture it in your mind? Fulvia’s gathering from all over Europe. Small streams converge and turn into a big river.

Shall we start with the following idea:

The focus is on Fulvia but anybody with a reasonably contemporary or older Lancia is welcome.

Fulvisti leave from Scandinavia, Germany, UK, Benelux and meet in northern France.
The flow continues in increases through France to the Col de Turini, crosses the border into Italy and continues to Torino or any other place in Italy where “gravity” directs the flow. This may include spending a day in the Piedmont region of the mythical Via Fulvia to the east of Torino.

Volunteers* prepare the route for the various stages (such as the UK to the French meeting place). They also provide a list of hotels and restaurants for lunch as well as dinner. Lancisti make their own reservations. Everybody pays for him/herself. Everybody can join or leave whenever they like. If a section is not prepared, we all get lost and meet again at the start of the next section.

*I have agreed to volunteer to prepare driving routes from the UK and will include hotel and lunch stop proposals until we join the "main stream".

Arrival in Torino: Sept 7 or 14 2013 (to be confirmed).

I believe UK departure will be 4 or 5 days before getting to Torino as we will be exercising Fulvias on D and E roads in France on the way, going over the Alps, and maybe to Via Fulvia region before arriving at Torino. A faster route back again over the Alps (Italian Job route maybe), and one overnight stop. Hotels will not be expensive but will be chosen to allow reasonable car parking. You are free to miss out stages as this is a self booking event.

Lancisti are creative people.
Fulvisti are friends all over the world.
La Lancia è uno stile di vita.
It will happen!

This is not an official LMC event but one created by Fulvia fans across Europe.

Please email me tim348@aol.com if you would like more information. Please provide a telephone contact.
