The D25 pictures promoted me to look back into my old 35mm colour slides from the most extraordinary track-day at Mugello in 1981. This was part of the big event in Italy that year which was attended by a large contingent from the UK. I have used some of these photos before, but now with an improved slide-scanner I can produce better images.

The following slides show the D25 arriving and being warmed up while Gigi Villoresi waits to get in before booming away on a few demonstration laps. The man with the yellow T shirt on to the left of Villoresi is our very own Barry Waterhouse. The D25 only did a couple of laps before parking up because of a brake binding on.

There is one more photo from this set that I couldn't get on the last post. This is of the D25 and the B20 parked next to it is the car that Barry had driven to the event. Barry is seen standing on the right with Andrew Maclagan and Roger Perry.

I have more photos from this event if folk are interested.

Thanks for the encouragement! I’ll carry on scanning a few more. One unnerving thing about looking at some of these old photos, which can look as if they were taken yesterday, is that the cars (or at least some of them) look exactly the same today, whereas some of the people in the background don’t.

Here’s the last one I have of the D25. The young child alongside is now mother to three of my grandchildren!

I’ll post more photos later under a more general heading.

Colin

I have some more recent photos taken in Paris in 2010 of the D25 at Retromobile when the car was on the Lancia Club France stand for their 30th anniversary, the first few pictures posted by Richard were also taken there, Colin is right about the car it still looks like it does in the earlier scanned photos.
