There's a lot of noise on the wires about a B24 Convertible that sold at auction for $242,000 USD.

Not such a surprising price these days you say; so why the coverage in mainstream press?

Here's the answer;


The car has been off the road for more than 40 years and is untouched, supposedly.  I'm not sure those bi-colour seats are original though: does anyone here know?

Have to say it does look lovely and completely straight in those CNN pictures.  Seats look good too!  It will be a lovely thing when it's cleaned-up and prepared for use - much nicer than a fully restored one to my way of thinking, so perhaps the price does make sense.

Sad that it should appear on CNNMoney.  Wonder why they did not even give it a wash?  Even so, it outshines anything else there.   What a shame it is in the USA, I am sure it will be "restored" and spoiled.
