Astura Mille Miglia
« on: 07 October, 2013, 09:36:16 AM »
Elaine Moore (Dilambda owner) visited the Museo Nicolis in Verona recently and discovered a beautifully restored Dilambda. The museum website features this Astura including a couple of interesting videos and if you click on 'Gallery' some lovely detail photos. The whole website is worth a trawl.

In, I think it is the last photo of the gallery, where the car is shown against a white ground, it seems unfortunate that it has become LH drive!!!!

Apart from that, as you say Robin, some delightful detail photographs and also what a wonderful noise that engine makes.

We have been here before with this amazing car - see under 'Competition Asturas', May 2012, and this photo of Ron Barker driving the same, or an identical car.

It was the collection of typewriters that caught my eye.  I also loved the gear knob on the Fiat 500 Colli.

I'd forgotten the previous thread on the car too.

Perhaps Steve can add this one to it?

Very interesting video - rather camp, but honorific as well. It kind of gave me chills, thinking of the kids honoring their father's heritage with so much emphasis on the humble origins of paper. And rendered poetic as well. Nice.
