IMPORTANT MEMBER ACTION PLEASE – RETURN ENCLOSED THE POSTCARD IN YOUR APRIL VL

The Club is planning a signature event over the May bank holiday weekend in 2013  (Friday afternoon May 24th to 27th Monday morning).

This event will be based around the Annual LMC Goodwood track day on the Saturday 25th and will have a strong social side with Fulvia concours, Fulvia parade lap, and regalia etc. Lots of opportunities to meet up and enjoy a picnic! Fulvias and track day participants will have exclusive parking in the paddock area with the other Goodwood car-parks free to use by other LMC participants. The paddock area and track side will be free entry to attendees on the Saturday.

There will be a Gala dinner on the Saturday night, and a driving tour with some interesting stopping places on the Sunday followed by a farewell dinner on the Sunday. Some technical workshops on Fulviana are also being considered for the Sunday.

The event finishes after breakfast on Bank Holiday Monday allowing opportunities to visit more of the local attractions nearby before driving home.

A carefully chosen hotel will provide accommodation over the Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights – budget £500 per couple.
Participation of the Track day is optional at additional cost of around £180 for a day and around £100 for a half day. Participation of the parade lap will be at a nominal cost.

The planning committee NEEDS to know if there is sufficient interest in this event.

Please complete and return the enclosed postcard or you can register your interest via email to tim348@aol.com or you can send me (lancialulu) a Private Message through the forum. Please be specific about what bits of the weekend you are interested in.

IT IS OPEN TO ALL MEMBERS – NOT JUST FULVIA OWNERS! Please tell us if you will come and what car(s) you will bring. Can we beat 250 Fulvias target set 25 years ago?

Closing date for pre-registering is 31st May 2012.

Pre-registering is not a contractual commitment but enables the planning committee to shape the event to members needs.

There may be other LMC endorsed Fulvia 50 events during 2013, but this is the key event in the UK. PLEASE COMPLETE THE POSTCARD.

I was stunned to learn last night after submitting my 'postcard' by email, that my original offer of help, suggestions, and interest in Fulvia 50 2013 on a parallel thread in August last year was missed - see http://www.lancia.myzen.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=4192.0

There is also another on http://www.lancia.myzen.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=5001.0

May I suggest that these threads be combined with this one so that we are all on the same page please?  Grin

It seems we pre-register on this thread.

So, David Wheeler No 95, 1972 Fulvia Sport 1600, weekend but not track.

I shall stay with my cousin in Ringwood.

I live in Carlisle and got the Aprilia to Goodwood last year so, even if it is a long way, it does not happen so often.  After all, I drive the Lambdas to Fobello every 5 years.  Cone on, wimps!

An idea for those covering distance is to agree, like with a Monte Rally, "convergance points" and travel onwards on a common route.  Have I got the right phrase?   Its the sort of thing friends might arrange between themselves for a smaller event.

That's a good idea (DavidL) - nearer the time, we should create a thread for "Travelling Routes for Fuliva 50" sort of thing - which can then be self organising.

Tim

Option 2 weekend but not trackday at least not to drive on track! Hotel will depend on cost, car will depend on whats running.

Hello Tim,

Option 2, unlikely but might consider half day on track but Mrs D will be bored to tears after an hour, (it's not really a spectator sport is it?).
Plan to bring Fulvia Coupe ! otherwise Montecarlo.

Tim,

I know the deadline for pre-registering for the Fulvia 50 event was yesterday, but I thought I would give a response anyway. I left it to the last minute to see if I could find a rush of enthusiasm for the £500 package and the finance to go with it could tempt me into signing up for more than than the lesser options.

Sadly it doesn’t and I will go for option 4, which is just to attend on the Saturday.

I will be coming in my Fulvia – an early Sport with 1600HF running gear. Membership number 275.

For what it’s worth, I guess most members who pre-register will do so because they want more than the turn-up-on-the-day option. My estimate is that for every member going for the package, there will be four or five like me who just turn up on Saturday.

Picking up on David Laver’s suggestion – it would be good to have rendezvous points on the route to add more interest.

It’s a long way ahead, but good for you for planning in this way.

Colin
