I have received a provisional offer from one of the nice chaps at a well known auction company  to buy my sport for them to sell at a profit to the far east as he claims to have prolific customers with 17k to spend on such a car.I was wondering if anyone else has been contacted by canvassers with positive results or otherwise!best regards richard

Best check the small print - they usually insist on a low reserve, and you may be disappointed.

Lancias don't usually fare well under the hammer...

Rule of thumb......never to buy off a salesman or from a cold caller or trust anyone else offering to do anything on your behalf, because usually its on their behalf|!!!!

Thanks for the replies so far.I will see what happens next! as I understood things the auction company would buy the car outright  and then  sell at a profit or otherwise in their auction.on the subject of sales classic cars magazine have provided an excellent ad free of charge and also included the ad in their weekly paper.also for those who may not have seen it yet  Huib has the viva lancia website(netherlands)which includes  free ads  with donations welcomed.best regards richard

Hi Richard,
Make sure you have cleared funds in your bank via a bank transfer and once it's in there ring your bank and check that it can't be drawn back at a later date! Trust me, i'm a car dealer and we get all the scams every day and this is one of them!
Regards Tony.
