Not sure if it will actually fit but bear in mind that very late Themas had a drivers airbag, although early series 3 didn't.
Nicer bet if you can get one is the leather steering wheel from a Dedra Turbo, which is a really good looking steering wheel and has a nice feel in use.

I think the splines on the steering shafts and the thread on the locking nut will be the same, but there might still be problems.

A Series 3 Thema wheel will fit onto a Series 2 Thema, but the reverse is not true. The Series 3 Thema has a different mechanism for self cancelling the indicators (dunno why they changed it as it has never caused me any issues in the 150K miles that I've driven my Themas!).

I think you should be OK, but where will you find the wheel anyone that has one is usually quite keen to keep it. A bit like Thema fog lamps... you'd need to build me a heated garage before I'd part with my spare ones!

cheers guys, failing that, i might go looking for the leather clad Dedra 4 spoke, as i don't like the standard Dedra wheel! & i finally have my own garage, so i'll be able to do work on her at last!!
