Sunday June 3rd at Stanford Hall for Auto Italia’s annual concours event. There are plans for some additional attractions at this centrally located stately home including amusements for the younger visitor and the opportunity to enjoy a weekend break in the Hall’s newly available accommodation. The manicured lawns will once again be host to a wide variety of top quality Italian cars including the UK’s largest annual gathering of Maserati cars.

The weather forecast looks awful but unless I have a last minute change of mind tomorrow morning, I'll be there.

Well, think I will save my hall pass from the missus for another day looking at the gloomy weather.  Shame, this event does seem to be cursed by bad weather.

Decided my petrol money would be better spent with the Bedfordshire Italian Car & Bike day on th 24th and hope for better weather.
I know they can't do anything about the weather, and I usually make it to Stanford Hall whatever the weather, but it's a miserable place in the wet, particularly if they haven't cut the grass which has been the case a number of times.

Those that decided to stay away probably did the sensible thing.  Whilst the rain could be classified as a drizzle at some points, it was often a bit heavier than that...  Still, I enjoyed myself although it was only when I got back to the car that I realised just how wet I was.

Not surprisingly numbers were down on last year and when I turned up at a rather civilised 10.30 I was only the fourth Lancia to appear.  Luckily more came along shortly after and I think I counted 15 Lancias in total.  And only one Beta after last week's Beta Meeta!

Here are some photos which hopefully give some idea of just how wet it was:

We could still hear it long after it had left the grounds!  It was incredible.
