Nick.
Completely different car! Suspension was fully adjustable and felt more compliant and not so hard, power delivery instant and did not "run out of breath" as an integrale does off boost, steering very quick but lacked balance and feel of integrale, brakes were as good (not bad for 1985), nice cabin and materials, switchgear a little dated, very noisy but refinded compared to other Grp B cars, too low geared for long motorway use, and the A/C MUST be working, otherwise you cook as no airflow comes through the sliding windows as the air is being sucked into the "ears" at the back. You always felt it was very capable and no body roll existed.weight distribution different as engine at rear not front..noise amazing

Thanks very much for that insight, S4 must have been well ahead of it's time.
Must remember to put the lottery on tonight.

Are you sure? I was told only last week it was still there..

Yes, I was told it was there, too Grin But it isn't. It has been sold in 2008 and is currently in Oregon, US.

Julia, how many were you offered? It would be interesting to see how many there are in the UK at present.

I don't really know how many there are in the UK, but I came across 2 fully original ones and a couple of converted/modified ones. Oh and a really good replica.

Julia, there should be 3 in total, the ex Patrick Collection car, the one which was at Historic motorsport, and the stradale which was used in the Monte carlo rally in 1986(also ex historic motorsport)
There is a green one here somewhere too, which is not normal stradale.

The one that was used in the Monte Carlo rally has a corse front, doesn't it? I've counted it as 'modified'. Not heard of the green one, but now extremely curious!

Yes that's it and now having lightweight panels made.
The green one was a potenziato factory car with more power and front section was like corsa version.
It sold at auction for little cost as condition was bad and it has not been seen since.
Where were the others you mentioned?

Hmm, any chance of the license plate number?
