Hi all.

How can I find out the production number of my Fulvia Zagato.

I ask this because a chap in Italy who I have been chatting with on email said his was number 1306. Would like to let him know my cars production number.

My cars are:

LFX 777G  1969   Vin:8183631212  Engine:3208

DHW 50K  1971   Vin:1657.818.651  Engine:59073

Any help would be great, Paul

Dear Sir,
the chassis number of your Fulvia zagato (and, of course, all coupes and sports!) is printed in that little space of the bonnet (i'm sorry but i don't know the right name of that space!).
You can also find this number on the little plate in your engine compartment!

hope i've helped you!

Chassis numbers for Fulvias are structured:

818 (model, in this case Fulvia), 363 (type, in this case Sport 1.3S RHD), 1212 (chassis number, starting at 1001)

yours is chassis 212 of nearly 3000 built, so an early car.

Your second car follows the same breakdown, and would be chassis 657.

However I'm assuming that for build number your friend means chassis number. On coupes (I'm not so familiar with Sports) there is another number stamped in the gutter of the off-side wing, on my car it's 540 424 36. I've never found out what this number is; maybe it's a build number in which case maybe mine is build number 424 (it's chassis 462).

The number in the gutter of the coupe refers to the actual production of that body part. Thus, it should be as close as possible to the chassis number. If very different, it might have been replaced because of an accident, Andrea

Are you after the production number or when it was built? (not registered)

Hi Phil

After what position in the line my car came out of the factory, think the numbers are starting to make sense.

Looks like LFX 777G registered in 1969 might be number 212 in-line of a total production of 3000.

Have I got this right?

Hello Paul

I'll send you the latest copy of the "Zagato Register - Fulvia Sport" in two PDF's.   The chassis number list might help you with the mathematics.   I think the total Fulvia Sport production came to 7,102.   That presumes, of course, that a car was built for every chassis number was used - who knows?

Regards - Roddy
