The National Automobile Museum of Turin reopens after four years of renovation and expansion.  The opening March 19, 2011 in the presence of President Giorgio Napolitano. Invested 33 million euros for the renovation and construction, 19,000 square meters of exhibition space divided into 30 sections, a center and an educational center.
Not simply an architectural renovation but an intervention that aims to position the new reality in a dynamic museum in the international cultural scene. His appearance, contemporary and futuristic, was designed by architect Cino Zucchi and designed the exhibition space and the innovative is signed by designer Francois Confino, who has already set up in Turin Cinema Museum: 30 sections in which they articulated the 19,000 square meters of exhibition space, divided into a salt which lets you pinpoint specific themes and historical periods, providing the visitor a clear narrative path, expressed with evocative titles and locations, from the beginnings till today.
The museum, which boasts one of the rarest and most interesting collections of its kind with nearly 200 original cars of 80 different brands including a period from 1769 to 1996 , tells the story of the car but also a culture and society through a unique path in the world language and heritage. Museum exhibition you add an event space , a convention center , a documentation center as well as the educational center , the bookshop and cafe and restaurant.

Seems a bit out of date, I seem to remember we reported this much earlier in the year with a full image gallery and the official web site is very comprehensive.
