Greetings

As I seem to have sold my Flaminia and am delivering it to the UK around the AGM later this month, I am looking for something interesting, cheap and cheerful in the Fulvia/Flavia line to bring back to Ireland on the empty trailer (a Fulvia Zagato project that would have fitted the bill went beyond my reach on eBay yesterday at £2200).

eBay is perhaps too high profile a place to be looking for a Zagato and perhaps too low profile to be selling a Flaminia (mine only rose to £1700 on the second time of asking) but I am sure there are many other interesting project cars languishing in members' garages like mine and just waiting to be rediscovered.

So I am broadening my search. I have a particular interest in a Zagato project/donor/parts car at the moment as I only have one of those in stock already I but would consider anything really.

Does anyone have any leads on a Fulvia/Flavia project or parts car?

Alan

Don't worry about the empty space syndrome, it never lasts long and is easily cured (but the cure may be expensive) !!!!!!!!!

Technically its called Disconnected Remote Empty-space Syndrome Syndrome (DRESS) as the sufferer  tries to fill a non-existent space they perceive exists  in a remote garage location by acquiring a car that is not for sale from an even more remote location and using money they don't actually have. The illness is more distressing to those with whom the sufferer interacts, particularly as they involuntarily experience all of the symptoms of selling a car they were not actually selling. Hence the syndrome within the syndrome. I am at stage 2 of 5 today, not yet having found a car that I "must have" and don't need ... but I'm working on it.

I thought I was in rehab but fell by the wayside last week when I fell for a particularly nice Porsche 944. Well, no point leaving the money in the bank!

There is a 1600 zagato mentioned on this site:

http://www.lanciaclassic.com/phdi/p1.nsf/supppages/davida?opendocument&part=3

although I think David generally only sells with a view to him restoring the car...

Thanks to all for your responses and counselling.

Behind the scenes (and admittedly after wasting a lot of official time yesterday in the Google search for the Holy Zagato Grail - but I stayed late to make up for it) I have turned up quite a selection of things as follows:

  • 2 or 3 mint restored S2 Zagat0 1600s for premium prices in excess of £15k
  • at least 1 nice S1 Zagat0 for £10k to £15k
  • 1 very interesting and seemingly well preserved barn/garage find type Zagat0 1600 for about £8k (I would definitely be looking at this one if I was in that price zone)
  • Dav1d Ashw0rth Zagat0 1600 with restoration option mentioned by BrucieBonuz immediately above
  • 1 basket case S1 Zagat0 1300 for parts only at £1200 - this has been around on the web for years without moving or selling and I suspect there may be separation issues with the owner as much as with the car
  • 1 project Fulvia S2 coupe and 1 sporty HF replica thingy detailed to a high standard and with its own website - didn't get prices on these
  • 1 MOT'd Fulvia S1 coupe £3750
  • 3 2000 Sedans from £800 to £2k
  • Lancia 2000 berlina for scrap, Durham

And of course the one I am now chasing and which has been under our noses here for months ....

Hope I haven't left out anyone who was kind enough to respond with leads. Contact me if any of the above interests you and I can try to root out details (am I signing up for a lifetime of Zagato e-mails here? I better change all my o's to 0's)

Alan

Thanks Chugga - I took my eye off the 'Bay there for a few hours after the Zagato splurge on Sunday.

It would be a nice stablemate for my current F-word collection but will probably go beyond my reach.

Isn't it just amazing what is out there to be found - only a small proportion of it comes up randomly on eBay

Ocelot if my memory serves me correctly, all the rage once upon a time; are the door pull wrapped up to protect them? as there seems to be something tied around them.
I'd certainly like it but it's going to go for lots more than the current bidding, not sure about the two tone though.
