That is a surprise! I only live 8 miles away so I'll try and get to have a look at it within the next couple of days, should be interesting, I wonder what they've done, if anything, about the lights and speedo Huh?

Looking at the pictures, the speedo is unmodified.  The rear lights have not been swapped over either, as the pictures show the reversing light on the right hand side of the car which is where the fog light should be for UK use.  This would suggest that the headlights have not been replaced either.  The interior is mis-described too, being described as full leather when it is infact leather and alcantara.

The pictures don't appear to have been taken in the UK.  All of the other cars in the pictures, notably the ones on the road are not UK registered!

Sounds from the description as if its a German registered and spec car, with no attempt made to convert it to a UK spec in any way.

Are they really £28K new? Can't see anyone paying that for a mid range Chrysler. This shows how Lancia's European image/status is so at odds with that of Chrysler over here. The Delta might give the Golf a run for it's money as a Lancia but not as a Chrysler - they will have to be cheap!

a bit of "artistic license" in the ad there, £28k new??? more like €23k (italian price incl tax etc...), so thats approx £20k

I'm guessing by whats been said above this Delta is a certain MOT/NCT failure without the modifications to the lights, speedo etc??

When I bought my 1.9 Twin Turbo Platino in 2009, the cost of the car with all of the options I wanted (basically eveything on the advertised car plus a few extra items) including VAT, UK registration and all of my flights and ferry came in at around £28K.  The one advertised has a smaller engine and lower spec than mine, so it would seem that there has been some artistic licence used!

Well! I attempted to have a look at the Delta advertised for sale in Luton.

for starters 27 Brunswick street appears to be an office that is for let, so it would seem that this is an accomodation address as there doesn't appear to be any premises for Carrera Cars LTD.
So I rang the mobile phone number and asked the Gentleman with an Asian? accent where I could find them.
He was a bit miffed and said viewing was by appointment and hadn't I read the advert on ebay that says so, I know I'm getting long in the tooth but all I can see is a note at the top of the page which says "Visit us for a test drive"  "call us to discuss the vehicle" or at the bottom, 'Interested? get in touch.
However the car is still in Germany and isn't expected until probably next week as they also have 3 other cars supposed to be coming over at the same time.
I then asked about the headlights, fog and reverse lights and pointed out that currently they do not meet UK regulations and what did they intend doing about the headlights in particular,?  we adjust them was the reply, but when I told him that was a load of rubbish as they couldn't be adjusted, he said that he would get hold of some secondhand ones, I pointed out that that would be difficult as no RHD cars have been built, he then changed tack and said that they would do whatever was necessary Roll Eyes
I've arranged for him to give me a ring when it arrives so I can go and have a look, in the meantime if anyone is tempted, Caveat Emptor!

Anyway it turns out the car was in Italy ! But would be in ireland soon. HUH!! sound the same  Huh?

Very interesting Brian! I'd suggest anyone even thinking of buying the car gets the dealer to put it through an MOT as part of any purchase agreement.

As the car is under 3 years old, an MOT will not be required.  However, it will require the single type approval.  In order to get this, proof of the work including receipts for parts is required.  Also, the vehicle must be inspected by a VAT registered garage to confirm that all of the work has been done.  After this, the car could be registered, but the DVLA do have the right to call the car forward for further inspections before it is registered.
