On the assumption that my broken handbrake collar is fatal has anyone got an offside (or both) caliper for sale?

Neil, I'm sure I have one somewhere, I have most of an HPE 2000ie stashed away including the engine/gearbox assembly, still attached to the front subframe, complete out to and including the discs.

Obviously the body has disappeared ( a lot seemed to fall off whilst I was driving !!), but I have front wings in reasonable condition and a pair of fibreglass front wings if anyone is interested.

Andy

I'll take you up on your offer afterall if that's OK. In the end Stuart only had the nearside caliper, so I'm still in the market for any offside one. Condition not important as I'll have them both re-conned.

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Neil,

I've just come back from a hunt through the Beta spares storage boxes and am delighted to say I've found 9 calipers, 4 front and 5 rears !!!!!  However there is a problem, I haven't the faintest idea which are left side and which are right side !!

They all appear to be in need of some fettling, they have been in storage for at some 5 years, but I note that you intend to recondition them anyway , so that should not be a problem.

How quickly do you want them? I am in Essex and I see you are in Yorkshire. I will be in Harrogate in mid July (I go every year for the Home and Gift Show) and stay in a little hamlet called Norwood near Fewston not far from you. Obviously that is one way of getting them to you, but that is a 3 month delay. I could get them carriered to you, probably about £6, it will need to be one of each of the rear units as I don't know which is which !!

Please let me know how you would like to play this.

Regards,

Andy

Cheers, need to be all fettled before the National Weekend so it would have to be courier (no problem as the only reconned caliper I've found is £ 181.00!!!). The calipers can be identified by the round lug that locates the end of the handbrake cable outer collar. This is on the bottom of the caliper and the pads apply to the front of the disc. It is the off/drivers side caliper I need.

Let me know how much you need and I'll send you a cheque.

Thanks again.
