Pagani Special
« on: 28 September, 2010, 01:52:56 PM »
Have a look at this fabulously patinated little Aprilia special.  I wonder what the asking price is.  Someone please bring it to the UK, I'll like a better look at it (preferably running at speed).

Still sitting down?

"...the car is made for the son of Pagani, named PS147 in 1947, there are a set of photos who shown the car on test in Monza autodrome, the car have a tubular chassis special made by Pagani. The engine is a 1500cc who come from Lancia Aprilia, with 90 hp, at 6000 rpm a whellbase of 2450mm and 455 kg of weight, top speed of 190km/h the body was made by Colli of Milano, with mottorcycle style fenders, the intention of Pagani was to race in 1947 1000 miglia, but the car was not end on time.
The car have race and won Tresenda-Apica in 1949, in 1951 the car was 3rd of class in Varese-Campo dei Fiori, won the Lecco-Balisio, and 5th place at Susa Moncenisio. Is possible who have race also at 1000 miglia, in 1948 a lot of Aprilias race, possible with a berlinetta body, infact is easy remove the body in 2 hours of work, the media speack also of a berlinetta body.  All the history is on anice book named LE SPORT E I SUOI ARTIGIANI, made from Andrea Curami for Giorgio Nada Editore.
After the dead of Pagani father in 1954 or 1955 the car remain abandoned in Pagani Factory, in 1971 was buy from Mario Righini and here remain just to 1995 when was buy from the actual owner.
the car have race and can race in modern Mille Miglia, and more important historical race.
the request is 320.000 euro negotiabile.
"

Makes the Ardea special with confirmed (they say) MM history in 1952/3 look like a bit of a bargain.

Both are gorgeous.

I can't wait for Chugga to get into this sort of stuff.  I understand he needs the "works" vehicles for all the fetch and carry first - and clear his back log of "ordinary" restorations to keep mum and girlfriend(s?) happy.
