Just out of interest, in the same copy of Motor Sport (Sept 1951) there are the following for sale:

Being mundane motoring enthusiasts we wouldn't like to attempt it, and it isn't very often that our advertising department is at a loss for words! Briefly: Appearence - Sheer beauty by any standards. Performance - highly exciting. Condition - throughout virtually beyond reproach. Price - Prohibitive. Redeeming feature - £10 tax.

Looking at the T37 that's nearly ten grand's worth for a 30 year old car.  Who'd pay that kind of money today for something that out of date?   Errmmm - know anyone with a decent Integrale?

Just for the record:

The ex Michael Scott Astura with tipo Bocca cabriolet coachwork by Pinin Farina was offered at the Pebble Beach auction of Gooding & Co, on August 15th, 2010.
It is car 33-3277 with engine 41208
It did not sell. The estimate was US$ 450.000 - 550.000
It is now again for sale at Hyman, in St Louis (the dealer where it came from). Asking price is US$ 550.000.

I have only just read the start of this thread ....
Price's garage was just up the road from me, all of half a mile, Doug Price helped me with the B20 carburettor when I was having trouble in the mid seventies. He used to do all the routine servicing for my in-laws .... I never saw anything of interest at that time. I understand he used to 'do a bit of racing' , but no-one ever came up with any detail. The garage is long gone and I thing it is now a computer servicing/repair enterprise.

Back in the early 70's which was before my Aurelia interest really developed, I was taken to several different lock-up garages in the Weybridge area by a friend where there were all sorts of Aurelia and pre-Aurelia goodies - parts and cars - stored by different Lancia owners. the garages are long gone and all I ever acquired was 2 sets of B20 tinted glass in the 80's and then Jacky's B24S Convertible in the 90's. I am not quite sure why there was such a density of lancias in that area - it cant have all been because of Tony Brooks.

As a complete aside, stored in the lock up garage in Stoke on Trent alongside our B20 which we bought in 1978 and still have was an Auto Union racing car. Sworn to secrecy by the vendor and needless to say the garage is long gone. Not really sure what it was or where it ended up.
