B&Q used to sell a 'chrome' aerosol paint which actually worked quite well as long as you didnt put too much paint on.
I imagine they still sell it and for me, it worked perfectly well in the particular application I required it for.

I tried the chrome paint without sucess. I am sure it must work but it may be very sensative to preparation and spraying conditions.

I used the B&Q chrome paint and it came out dull, but was happy as the other bit of plastic chrome internal trim was in a similar state of patina. I doubt I could get a good finish like the S2 fulvia chromed grill.....

Just thinking laterally here, if the item is relatively large and flat might the chrome vinyl that they use for "sign writing" posh vans be of any use.

Maybe a bit too lateral.

There is also a chrome enamel spray that I have used last month. Its available from Halfords and works not too bad at all. Costs about £8.

Hi James

We have electroplaters here who can successfully chrome plate plastic, so surely in the UK you'd be better off.  A lot of them even 'bronze' baby booties by coating them with an electroconductive compound, so I had some Beta seat bits and a Fulvia 5 spd bonnet air intake done beautifully.

Our son has also used Dupli-Color www.duplicolor.com Chrome aerosol spray to good effect on Montecarlo taillight surrounds.

Kindest regards

I have tried a paint from Frosts and it was OK but not really chrome. The US range of Dupli Colour paints are not available in the UK as we already have a company (Holts) selling paint called Dupli-Color.
