Just saw what looks like a decent set of bumpers for not too much money in this classified ad in Italy

http://www.subito.it/paraurti-flavia-salerno-10192811.htm

In fact quite a goldmine of Lancia stuff for sale on that website if you look around! Whole cars too!

B >:(gger!!!

I just bought a rear bumper for £60 and it needs repairs and rechroming.

Excusi my Italian, but does that ad mean 150 euros for both or each?

Wonder what the postage would cost? Hmmm... is anyone going to Italy with a big suitcase!?  Undecided

It seems that "€150.00 cad." means "€ 150.00 each" in italian. So perhaps not such stunning value after all.

I've made some enquiries myself about a Flavia grille but when I saw the prices for some of the stuff afterwards, I was almost moved to retract my original post for fear of sending anyone on a fool's errand. But it seems you can't fully retract - good discipline for the "think twice before pressing send" maxim.

After many long and fruitless hours spent wading through the results of various Google text searches designed to unearth Flavia and other obscure Lancia stuff for sale, I have lately resorted to using the Google image search engine with some not bad results such as this one - some resulting in my successful cold calling various advertisers in Italy by e-mail.

My stage 2 weapon in this regard is the Google translate function which, once you are careful, seems to make a good job of english-italian translation and vice versa. Makes life a lot easier.

I guess there must also be a stage 3 weapon along the lines of, when you've found your unsuspecting latin vendor, ignore his exorbitantly speculative price tag and "bid 'im in the bo11ix" skilfully and with great charm and in his own mother tongue!
