well after a long hard days work, the last thing i needed tonight was to be stuck in the unit because the snow was that severe up here!! anyway the old berlingo failed me  so what should i do  Huh?
in the corner of the unit sits josh's 50cc (childs size ) quad Wink
my dads face said it all when i pulled up in his drive on it with a cordless inspection lamp to see where i was going, i can highly recomend  the KAZUMA MEERKAT as the future transport for heavy snow, i had a few strange looks from 4x4 drivers and pedestrians lol
its only fault was that at one point the snow was deeper than the quad was tall so it stopped as snow had packed around the spark plug, i did have to ride it with my legs over the front wings  but under the handle bars and change gear and brake ( foot pedals ) with my hands , otherwise LOADS OF FUN  Wink

I always found a fulvia great in the snow with 145 tyres and the weight over the drive shafts and three pints off winter warmer doing their work (a long time ago...)

Tim

PS James do you have a pic of you on the meerkat??? It must have been a sight...

Can we see a picture of this snow clearing beast please! When I lived up the side of a big hill with unmade roads in Herefordshire, I used to use a petrol driven leaf blower which worked great as long as no one had walked on the snow first (edited to stop Roger playing semantics Cheesy), driving wasn't the real problem, but a 30 Degree drive that could only be negotiated down backwards, with a 12 foot drop, and 90 deg turn at the bottom was Shocked
sounds like your beast would have made the job a lot easier.

The best car we ever had for getting through snow was Jackys first Lancia - an early LHD Fulvia Sedan 2C. I vividly remember roaring up Egham hill in the 70's in it when nothing else could get up the hill - great - and on Michelin XAS it was a real Q car as well from the handling point of view.
Sorely missed but I still keep my eyes open for a good one, preferably LHD but RHD would do.

All we have still is an iceing sugar covering - hardly enough for a snow ball.  That's subtropical Lewisham for you...  Fingers crossed enough on Blackheath and in Greenwich park for the tobbogan.
