After a bout of non-starting I've finally tracked it down to the armature.
Would be grateful if anyone can sell me a complete starter, a good armature or point me in the direction of someone who can supply another/rewind the old one.
The current unit is a Ducellier 534036A 12v 2K but will consider anything as long as it will fit.
Alternatively does anyone know if there is an equivalent from a different manufacturer e.g. Bosch and if so what part number?
Thanks in anticipation, Pewe.
PS Also have some Beta engine parts and a few VX HPE specific parts if you want a trade?

Thanks to Chris Bastow for his generous advice.
Problem now sorted - used a Fiat 131/2 motor which only required the oil pressure/temp switch removed temporarily to enable fitting.
Pewe.
