Hi,

Does anyone know if the "fuse box" for the Y10 turbo is the same as the one for the Y10 fire? Reason I am asking is because I have to change mine (Y10 turbo) and here in Sweden I have only found one (!!), from a Y10 fire. The year model is 1987 and the fuse box I am talking about is the one situated below to the left of the steering column (European).

Thank you.

Best regards

Hi Dimitris,
I can't check 100% as my series 1 Y10 manual is out on loan to a friend, but going by the series 2 manual they may well be different, as on Series 2 there are specific extra connections for Y10 GTie and for Y10 LXie compared to the Y10 Fire fuse box. There doesn't seem to be many, about 4 additional, so if it's the same with Y10 Turbo you maybe able to swop the extra connections from the old box to the new.

Hi Brian, thanks for your answer. The problem is that in Sweden I cannot find a fuse box for the GTie neither for the LXie. The only Y10s that were imported here were the Fires and from those there exists only ONE fuse box at the used parts market. My problem is that my fuse box melts the fuse for the lights, so I have to change it every one or two days. I thought that a "new" fuse box would be a good idea considering the age of the car and that of the electrics. Maybe I should put an add at the "spares needed".

Dimitris,
It looks like the same fuse box with extra connections, so I'd suggest you get the Y10 Fire Fuse box then check the connections in your fuse box to it, it maybe that you have to reposition a couple of the cables in the back of the fuse box.

Hi Brian, I changed the fuse box and well the lights are working BUT the Fire fuse box is missing a whole row of connections that mine has at the second row to the left (if you have a picture of it). I do not know what this row is for, maybe the check control, but the funny thing is that all my chack control lamps light as usual when I start the car. The other funny thing is that it shows that both my tail lights are not working even with the lights turned off!!. I think that I should try to find a fuse box for the Y10 turbo. Do you know of anyone who might have one?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Dimitris,
Can you transfer the connection from you old fuse box into the new, the boxes should be the same, it's the connections themselves that make the difference.

From memory (and a little checking) this fusebox was part number 5944360.  A very popular part back in the day. It was fitted to many models, including all early Fiat Unos (pre facelift). It was also fitted to Delta models from '86 to '92.
No longer available from Fiat as a new part.

Hi Kevin,
According to my 2005 eper it was 5942795 and it only shows as also being fitted to TB Delta R86 BZ/DS (1986-1992) & RT Delta 4WD (1986-1991) I take it you're looking back further than I can, as well as drawing on your own knowledge?
Nothing is shown for earlier Y10's including the Turbo, am I right in believing that they would he been on microfiche?

The ePer does not list the pre facelift Uno or Y10, the fusebox being different on those models. You have to use the microfishe for any earlier models. While some parts are compatible a lot are not.
