What happened to the company car? Do what I did. I bought a W plate Fiat Marea wagon April 2008 for £750 at auction. Its done 15k miles since then - somewhat less a month than you're doing admittedly. Aside from routing maintenance, all its needed was a ball joint at the last MOT 3 weeks ago. Won't set the world alight but great thing to have - especially as its worth nothing so you can do what you like with it. Thoroughly recommend the "whocares" approach to motoring. Never have to worry about dings and scratches again!

At the moment I get paid to run the Ypsi as my company car. If I opt back into the company car scheme, I've still got the Ypsi (and still need to sell it) but get no contributions to the depreciation, etc. If no-one wants it, then I'll run it for as long as I'm allowed (5 years or 150k miles, whichever comes first) as the depreciation curve will flatten.

Something not too far from £3,500 but if you're seriously interested, drop me a PM or e-mail with your phone number, and I can call to discuss...

A cursory scan of Autotrader.co.uk shows that Puntos of the same age (of much lower spec, but lower mileage) are priced between £3k and £4k, so I'd like to think I'm not too far off the mark. It's an impressively-equipped car, but I don't think people are used to "executive car" standards in a car of this size!

I've accepted an offer on e-Bay, so all being well, the car is now sold.

Well, the car was valeted last night, and I put a new tyre on the front off-side as it was showing wear on the inside edge. I'll get some photos for posterity, but the transport company is due to collect it this afternoon.  Cry

The lead times on new Fiestas are quite long (2010 on some variants!) so in the meantime, I have a 2006 Focus Ghia. I don't like it. It's not half the car the Ypsi is.  Sad

She's going to a good home and will join a collection including a Triumph Stag, an XJS convertible, a Triumph Spitfire and an XJC awaiting re-commissioning.

I get sentimental over my cars!
