Snow or not, I’m not tempted to attend. I’ll wait for evening spring sunlight to illuminate the otherwise dull, dark car park and hopefully some fine cars.

See you then chaps,

Yep , just take a look outside my window in sunny, oops I mean snowy Romford in Essex  Cool

The weather has been so bad that mine is on SORN for the first time in 4 years !!
I also understand what Colin says, event though it is an iconic place, the car park is quite dark and dingy, they need to sort out the lights there.

I take your point, but it's not only about being in the car park, it's meant to be a social thing too.

Conversely, I have always found it odd that at most other regional meets everyone is inside the pub talking and hardly any time is spent looking at the cars!
(Which is part of the reason we went for the Ace, to get around the two lonely blokes in the pub scenario.)

However, looks like it might be just me and a plate of sausage, egg, chips, beans, mushrooms, fried bread, tomatoes, hash browns, two slices of bread and butter and a mug of tea tonight.

Don't be rude Brian, anyway I've got some tablets from the doctor which should clear it up.

In confessing that my interests were mostly in the car park I did worry that it might sound a bit antisocial. But Martin’s explanation about his health problems convinces me that I was right!

It's that time of the month again and if it's fine and dry I might even take the Hyena!

Just to let everyone know that Martin and I WON'T be at the Ace next week as we'll both be attending the wedding of a revered Lancisti (can that be in the singular?) near Turin... but do go along anyway and fly the flag - there's bound to be some nice Italian motors, there always are.. and no, I wasn't imagining the lime green De Tomaso Mangusta...

Yes it's that time of the month again and definitely taking the Hyena, which is just back from a muddy weekend in the Cotswolds/Prescott.

Mmmm, it's not snowing, no salt on the road, not half-term - maybe some other Lancisti might just show up for the Italian Car Night at the Ace Cafe tomorrow night? I'll be there about 8pm but alas Hyena won't be - it's in France. And no, it's not the one for sale - that's K721DHN - mine WAS K236DHN.

I'll be there, in a Lancia !

Oh, and Mark's lime green Mangusta does exist, photographed at Brooklands Auto Italia.

Six Lancias graced the ACE this evening and in their subtle way showed the various Fiats, Alfas and Masers what real auto-engineering is all about. Well anyway, I saw it that way.

Dave Gee’s Flaminia Sport took pride of place, but right at the back of the car park was this wonderful Beta Coupe seemingly without a proud owner.

This Thursday will be the second of the month - which means we're back at the Ace Cafe for Italian Car Night and hoping to improve on the good turnout (quantity AND quality) last month. We usually get there between 7.30 & 8 - hoping to take the Hyena if overheating problems don't re-occur. (Seemed fine on trial run just now)
Do come along for the last real summer one - there'll be plenty to look at as well as Lancias and the beer (I mean Pepsi) is cheap as well as the food!

Colin,

Don't want to be picky but actually the official report reads SEVEN Lancias as a yellow Beta Spider turned up after you had gone.

Dave Gee's Flaminia Sport is indeed really lovely but let's not overlook other very interesting cars; nice to see Mike Matthews Agnelli integrale back out & about, how many times do you see a Hyena on the road in the UK? and I suspect your modesty forbids but (in my opinion) your own Fulvia Sport is one of the best around!

The point here is we are now getting good numbers of members with a good spread of cars and if anyone hasn't yet been to the Ace, (worth a visit in itself) then do it this week.

See you all there !

It's tomorrow night, Thursday 14th from 7.30ish.

We had a good turn out last month including 3 integrales, and good to see Richard Carr made it all the way from the south west !

So if you want to sample the food before you book for Christmas, see you tomorrow.
