Has anyone any ideas regarding my problem (everyones?) with eper, I've just reloaded my copy and all I can get now appears to be online brochures?
I can't pull up models at all on either the Fiat, Lancia, Alfa, I'm using DVD Cat V 17 which although it is only about 2003 usually gives me Dedra, Thema, Ypsilon,Musa,Y10 to choose from in the model boxes, which then allows me to go in and enter vehicle specific details & get into the parts lists.
Now, on the Lancia Page all I get is Musa brochures details. and a Fiat or Alfa Brochure on their respective pages.

I've tried using a free version on the Fiat Forum but that just says too many people trying to connect, try later.

Have Fiat now locked us out of the system?

I've also tried a later Version 34, but I then get a message saying this is out of date and use latest version.

Hello Brian,

I'm using a CD/DVD version of ePER, software release 2.1.0 from 2004, and because of our weak Fiat/ Lancia presence in SA I use it without connecting to the Internet.

I browse it for part No.s and e-mail them to my Fiat parts man which does work.   Grin

If you like I'll snail mail you a copy.

Kindest regards,

Hello Guy,

Thanks for the offer but I'm now OK, I've added a note to the original message with a link that I found trawling through Google that works! and it's much quicker than previous ones I've used.
I have later copies including ver 34 of the DVD, which promptly screwed everything up when I loaded it, it overwrote my earlier copies & then came up with a message something to the effect that the copy was out of date, to insert the latest version, & asked for a password; since then I haven't been able to use my earlier versions that previously worked Huh?

I think I mentioned this before, but the later generation of ePer DVD have an expiry date, so this may be your problem. The other thing is that each DVD will overwrite the previous one which has been stored and will in turn pass on the expiry, wil means you cannot even access the earlier version.
If its only Lancia numbers you are interested in then the Compact 98 cd's are just as useful as it contains most models.
We are up to version 44 and we also have an 'online' version which contains a huge amount of info not to be found on the standard DVD's.

Thanks Kevin,
Yes you did mention it before, but even the version I was using from a link on the Fiat Forum went the same way!

I had great difficulty removing the later version from my pc, but I still can't access my earlier version that used to work ok.
The link I'm using now (shown at the bottom of my original posting) works very well and is faster than any the Fiat Forum one I was using.
I have a copy somewhere of compact 98 that I used to use, although it would be handy to be able to check up on our 2007 Grande Punto 1.3 multijet as well.

just changing the subject slightly, though it stil involves parts...

On the ePer linked above i noted that it seems to show some Delta parts as available when they're not. Am i right in thinking that i need to check with my local Fiat dealer to confirm availability?

Thanks - Chris

 Chris,
you are correct as the eper I'm using is about 4 years old, but it covers all of the RHD later Lancia's as well as some of the LHD, and you would certainly need to get parts availibility checked, but at least this way you have a good idea what you are after Grin

Yes, this really works!

Because we have no Lancia presence in SA and a pretty weak Fiat one, I did my own sleuthing using ePER, gave a one page list to my local Fiat agent who came back to me two days later to say that except for 6 items on my Thema list they could supply everything!

I wouldn't put any faith in the ePer as regards availability issues. The only way to be sure if 'older parts' are still available, is either for us (dealers) to order the part, which tells us what warehouse has (or not) the part in stock, or the backorder situation. Then we have the chance to either order or cancel. What I generally do is check availability, then if good, ring my friend in Fiat who will usually give me extra than normal discount. If they have a few items in stock I may, depending on the part, order them all. A few years ago I sold a 2.0 Dedra engine, and was informed at the time that Fiat had 11 in stock. These have most likely been scrapped at this stage.
a lot of parts are beginning to enter the 'no longer available' stage at present. Examples are t/stats for Deltas 2.0 turbo and Fiat Coupe.
Although the Fiat ePer still shows them as being available.
A good part of the ePer to use is the 'search' facility. Enter any part number and it should tell you what models from the Alfa/Fiat or Lancia range it suits.
