You know what this is.

So this was rattling against the clutch lever but appeared to be well bolted on. A bit of wiggling and it came off in my hand. With the bracket removed I need to decide what to do with it.

So, repair and refit or........

I use the car year round and have the flexy hose on the air intake, which is currently set to 'I'. The hose hasn't actually been on the end of the pipe now removed, for as long as I've owned the car but is in the exhaust direction.

I have never found the need for this even doing runs in damp spring air in 2000m alpine passes. But I guess it was a consideration given Turin's location in the original design as they must have had some carb icing during development.
Its not the winning but taking part! or is it taking apart?

Supposed to cool the brake discs I guess.   A 2CV has a similar set up (also unnecessary).

David it is an exhaust manifold hot air pick up to carbs and goes via a large hose (which gets in the way of the flywheel timing window) to the air filter box as a measure to prevent carb icing in deepest winter….
