Does anyone know if there are adjustments to the 5 speed gearbox.
When I approach a stop street in 2nd and take my foot off the accelerator, it slips out of 2nd. If I hold the lever in position it stays in 2nd without any force. Under acceleration she remains in gear. All other gears are fine.
Have I got an incorrect forward spring TAV 29 18 (below). My spring looks to be the same size.
The photo below shows a smaller spring that Pieces say is for the gearbox. Where does this go please
All suggestions would be appreciated

That smaller spring is correct. Indeed any similar spring will work but this is unlikely to cure slipping out of second.

On the dipstick side of the gearbox is a small lateral housing which contains a ball and spring (see Tav 33) you may find a stronger spring will help solve the problem but more correctly it is likely the 2nd gear is worn.

Thanks Tim. I will replace the spring with the smaller one and check the lateral housing on the weekend. I hope that will sort it out. Other wise It'll have to wait until I remove the box one day

the plug in the lateral housing sometimes gets corroded in. At the end is an m3 thread where you can put a bolt to pull the plug out....
