For lampredi 1.6i.e
Handbook says 10w40.
Is this still what most people use?
The reason I ask is 10w40 is the manufacturer grade for my Alfa v6, but I put in Millers 10w50 and the V6 does well on that, doesn't burn a drop and gives a bit more confidence when hard driving and I am wondering about using the same for the Prisma.

My Beta ran ok on 10/40 until it got hot, then had red light flicker on idle. Went back to traditional 20/50 with much better results, however have some 10/50 to try on next change which will hopefully help both hot running and cold starting.

I should say I use my Delta in the south if France where summer temperatures are regularly above 35C and on the Delta oil pressure gauge it drops to about 2 bar at tickover which is fine.
