I used a can of Fiat Broom Yellow from Halfords - looks good.   The code seems to vary with the supplier and the Fiat forum seems to feel it is a very difficult colour to match as well and liable to fade.     How fussy are you, mine is fine after 10 years..

I need to paint the cam cover on my 1.3S engine which should be crinkle mat black. I think the two "Lancia's" inscribed on the cover need to be plain metal and polished. How is that done? Could be a really fiddly job. Is there a trick to doing it so it looks professional?

Polish the lettering first, crackle finish the whole cam cover and once its fully cured sand it off with a block?

That's one way but the really beautiful examples I have seen have the vertical sides of the lettering polished as well. sanding the top off afterwards would not accomplish that.

Must have been masked off carefully then? And masking tape removed before the crinkle finish appears?

1300S may have been black crackle but 1600 Sport is definitely yellow.

Hi David, is there no issue with the Fiat Coupe Broom Yellow when the engine gets hot? I was thinking it may have to be a special paint.

I have not had any problem at all.  Been on there for 10 years now.

Not wanting to hijack the thread, but while we're talking paint - does anyone know what colour the block should be painted on an HF?
Was it the same for S1 and 2?

.

I have used Ford Signal Yellow (Halfords spray can) on mine.  No problem with heat degradation or otherwise and it still looked good after 16 years (when the whole car was repainted).  Might be worth comparing with the Fiat colour.
