I reported recently of a problem when one of the stubs on the fuel pump came out.
I thought the fix by the RAC man had overcome the problem, but I now have a fuel seepage from the same area.
I've bitten the bullet and ordered a new pump from Omicron but it seems it needs slight? modification to fit, has anyone done this and if so what is involved?
Are any spares available for the original FIPSA fuel pump as one has come my way?

Why not ask Andrew at Omicron. He's pretty helpful and free with his considerable knowledge.

I did but Andrew was unsure just what it entailed, as there might be different pumps.
Incidentally there similar/same fuel pumps advertised elsewhere online, all I've seen are considerably more expensive than Omicron.

If your fuel pump is OK apart from the seepage Brian, cant you do a repair using Araldite or similar like has just been done by another Forum member to one of their Fulvia carbs?

Hi Chris, the RAC man used a 'chemical steel' an epoxy based product to effect a repair which seemed to be working OK.
However until I take  the pump off I can't see if it's the pipe that's come out again, or the other one that's leaking.
It's  a replacement pump I fitted about 20 years ago, so I thought I'd change it anyway.
All in with gaskets and postage it came to just over £43, so not a vast expense. I'll then look at the old one to see if it can be repaired to keep as a spare.

Are you going to Padua?
If so can you get any contacts for Augusta parts please for a friend who has just acquired one, he had intended going himself but can't make it.

Yes Brian, as usual I will be going to Padova but only on the preview day, Thursday. I do0nt know whether you have ever attended but these days its so big that I always think that if you look long and hard enough walking around and around in a methodical manner , you will find what you want in the end. That is the good news but the asking prices at Padova for good spare parts seem to rise every year.
I know little or nothing about Augustas and I am not aware of ever coming across an Augusta specialist there, but I will keep my eyes open. Having said that, the good old internet is a good starting point for a new owner and there are some enthusiastic N European Augusta owners who seem to have a few examples and lots of spares.

Fitted new fuel pump today with no modifications needed.
Found that the other Stub had pulled out of the fuel pump.
I also found a small earwig in the fuel line!
Wherever did that come from?

Cavis Benz 7mm (equiv 8mm) from various source Omicron, Ricambi Intl etc. They change colour with age and go still when cold. I bought some recently with  the Cavis on it but now they are blue... 4mm  bore is also available. As far as I can see they are ok for ethanol.

Guy,
Tim advised when I was looking to replace my old fuel lines, and I purchased mine from Ricambi, they only cost about £12.
They look good and being transparent you can see what's going on, so if not compatible at least I should be able to spot a problem unlike normal hoses, as well as looking like the originals would have.
Funny about the change in colour Tim mentions, suppose its being exposed to light, heat and the fuel, as the breather pipe in my boot is still green after 56 years.
