Does anyone happen to have the stainless side trim for the rear left quarter of a series 2 Fulvia berlina?

Mine decided to detach itself today on the motorway and the chances of finding it are pretty much zero.

I'd rather pay someone in the club than resort to that well-known auction site but needs must.

Thanks.

Again a phot of  the area would be helpful as I have some S2 Berlina SS trim parts.

Hi Tim,

Thanks for coming back to me, attached a picture of the now-missing trim piece.

It's about 90cm long and is straight, unlike the trim on series 1 cars.

Best regards,

Ian

Hi Tim,

Absolutely no rush, no shows coming up and the car is due to go in for a few very minor jobs.

Off topic but recently I needed two new tyres and my garage fitted Pirelli P1 Cinturatos at £67 each all in, which I thought was a bargain.

I also had the tracking done, offside wasn't bad but the nearside was way out. With that and new rubber it now goes where I point it.

All the best,

Ian

Hi Ian

I have various Berlina S2 trim currently stored under a staircase at work. If you can let me know the exact length I will have a rummage.

Best
Justin

Ian

I have 2 long trims see photo c 82cm. Both  need a clean and polish and  one is a  bit mangled. Happy to give free. Can bring to the National Rally or post mid July (your cost...)

Tim, Justin,

Thanks very much for the offers, chaps. The piece is bang on 90cm long so if you happen to have it Justin that would be great. I'll be at Goodwood in August if you're there, if not I'm sure we can work something out.

Btw if anyone else is looking for S2 berlina spares there's a chap selling a bunch on eBay at the moment. His name is Rupert Lawson and his email is rupertchlawson@gmail.com

Changing tack slightly, I've ordered a pair of bonnet straps from Demon Tweeks as if I do more than 60mph the bonnet has an unnerving tendency to lift. I'm sure it's safe enough but just as a contingency...

All the best,

Ian

Hi Ian

I'll try to get to the parts this week and let you know.
I am fairly confident the right trim is in the collection.

Hi Ian,
My bonnet has always been the same, but in 36.000 miles over 21 years it's never let go, so unless you really feel the need, I'd say you don't need bonnet straps.

Morning Brian,

I dare say you're right re the bonnet straps but in terms of the overall driving experience I'd rather not have the distraction of the front corners lifting up.

As it turned out the Demon Tweaks ones were a bit rubbish so I bought these from Holden instead: https://www.holden.co.uk/p/leather_bonnet_straps_short_brown

Didn't cost much more but better quality/more substantial. Then I had a mental debate about how to fit them after seeing this little beauty: https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/lancia-fulvia-berlina-gt

It was 'fully rebuilt' by the Project Shop at Bicester in late 2020/early 2021 with the respray costing more than I've spent so far on my car including the purchase price!

Anyway, Tony looked at the pictures and took an executive decision to fit them the traditional way so job done.

I'm looking forward to picking it up next week in time for the Sherborne Castle show on Sunday 17 July.

All the best,

Ian

Hi Ian,
I was wondering what lucky soul  bought that beauty!
Brilliant work and must have cost at least twice, if not more than it cost to build to that standard.
After a lot of checking I found it had never been a 'club' car, and I think it was one never known that surfaced from somewhere, any chance of a look at the chassis number when you've picked it up.?
Hopefully you will bring it to the Agm and join other Berlia owners.

Not guilty, your honour. I was just referring to the bonnet straps. Uncle Jack kindly published a picture of my car along with my friend Arthur's Saab in VL a few months back.

Hoping to see a few more Lancias at the Sherborne Castle show, surprised there isn't an officla club entry given there are over 2,000 cars taking part. Maybe next year?

Hi Ian a lot of these shows require a local leader to pick up the  reins. Club will support with what you may require. Interested?
