I would have thought that the pressure from the spring (weight of the car) being unevenly spread on the thrust bearing would accelerate wear.

Is there room for a slightly thicker washer between spring and bearing, as that could be an option. Also you have to consider the amount of driving and miles you will do in the car, I guess itís a lot less than originally designed for.

yes i think an additional washer is a good idea. i will fit the springs and see how it drives and if its still bad I may have to pull it apart again and modify the spring...
