A few more photos .......

I know very little about Ardeas, does anyone have any info at all - chassis numbers, production numbers, parts books etc etc

I have had a look at a couple of reference books (camion Lancia, working class Lancias, 70 years of trailblazing) that give some detail, but I would appreciate more !

Thanks

The joys of Ardea complexities: there are several different motors, 100, 100A, B, and C, which I think correlate to the different series (I-IV). They all have the same genuine geometry, but different crankshafts, as the piston weights varied (can give more detail with a bit more homework, but they are covered in the Balancing book....). However, the last one has a different block, using liners! Some shots from Padova a few years ago.

There was a guy there from the Lancia Ardea club, who had some remade parts.... with a website: http://www.lancia-ardea.it

Thanks Geoff, my engine is a 100A and it has 5 forward gears, so is a later car. Not sure of the exact year yet because I have no papers ..... but I am hoping that it may be possible to get a "Visura" to help with the registration here in France

Not sure that I would like to repair that block !

I did take the camioncino for a spin around the yard - no brakes, so lots of care ! But on first look, the brakes look very similar to Aprilia on the front and Appia at the back, which would make sense

PS , I will start a new thread to make searches easier

Very nice Simon!
The Girgio NADA Editore Lancia Ardea e Appia book lists production numbers and chassis numbers for the Ardea Furgoncino & Camioncino:-
Furgoncino 1945 - 1953 type 550 7120 made. Chassis numbers 1001 to 8130
Camioncino 1948 - 1952 type 650 100 made, Chassis numbers 1001 to 2600

Engines type 100A from Furgoncino 3170 (No mention of Camioncino),
type 100B from Furgoncino 4385 & Camioncino 2194.
12volt electrics from number 3170.

Oude Weernink's LaLancia lists  chassis numbers 2nd series Furgoncino 1945 - 1949 type 550 1010 to 4384, 4th series Furgoncino 1949 - 1953 type 550 4385 to 8130.
2nd series Camioncino 1948 -1949 type 650 1001 to 2193 4th series Camioncino 1949 - 1953 2194 to 2600

Looking at these figures it appears that there were two series of Ardea Furgoncino and Camioncino, either 2nd series or 4th series.

Being pedantic the commercial vehicles based on the Ardea were called the 800, not Ardea. You will see this on the rear number plate lamp, the left hand side says Lancia and the right hand side says 800. see photos.
