All of us are aware that Augustas competed in the Targa Florio, but even Morris was unaware that they had competed in the Mille Miglia until I told him about these pictures.
I learned about Foto Locchi when some friends visited Florence some time ago, but only recently thought about searching their archive for Augusta pictures.
If you go to https://www.fotolocchi.it/it/archivio/?query=Lancia+Augusta&_=1649691114502 you will find a number of photos - there are two unusual cars (to my eyes anyway) and I wonder whether either have survived.

Number 89 of MM 1937 is still around and being restored. It was for sale at Padova 2018.

I wonder whether those are the same tyres that were fitted in the MM!

It's interesting to see they fitted sidelights on the Mille Miglia cars. I thought it was only the British imports that had them.

Interestingly car 89 in the race picture didn't have sidelights (nor did any of the other Augustas) and it didn't have wire wheels.

So it seems the sidelights and wire wheels are both more recent than the actual MM race.
