THE 12TH REGIS TAP – SUNDAY 4TH SEPTEMBER 2022 – ONLY 18 PLACES REMAIN.

Bognor Regis Motor Club have opened the entry for their 12th Regis TAP – Tour & Picnic. There has been a high demand for entries and the remaining places are filling fast. Generously sponsored by Hardy Engineering of Leatherhead for the second year, this long established charity fundraising tour continues to prove very popular. Over £44,000 has been raised for charity in the last 11 years with all but the first £3,000 donated to Kent Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance.
The exclusive start will again be at Great Ballard School at Eartham, east of Chichester with breakfast butties and coffee/tea plus the collection of roadbooks.
Another fabulous selection of venues has been found for this year including a very special visit to The Robert & Tanya Lewis Collection at Churt. Clerk of the Course, Ali Green has been trying for 11 years and fortunately we were granted a slot for 2022. The collection is very diverse with usual vehicles and a vast array of memorabilia. There is a huge field for parking and picnics with tea and biscuits available.
At each of the previous Regis TAP we have tried to include exclusive venues and places of interest, especially with a motoring slant. We also include something else for those with different interests and this year is no exception. Watt’s Gallery and Artist’s village at Compton fits the bills beautifully. Tea and cake will be included here.
The finish will be a return to our exclusive venue at The Tithe Barn, Old Ditcham Park south of Petersfield where a Meat Roast will be served.
Entry fee will be held at £120.00 for a crew of 2 to include: Breakfast butties, coffee & tea, Roadbook, Rally plates and stickers, entry to the Robert & Tanya Lewis Collection, access to The Watts Chapel and Visitors Centre at Watt’s Gallery – (special exhibitions require an

additional fee – reserve online at What's on - Watts Gallery). Hog roast at the Tithe Barn – Bring your own drinks. £25 from every entry will be donated to Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance. Additional crew members to the number of seats in the vehicle are £60 pp (this includes £12.50 donation). The event will also send a donation to Sussex Wildlife Trust to help to replant the Kelp Forests off the Sussex Coast and assist in mitigating are carbon emissions during the tour.
The whole tour will cover about 100 miles of West Sussex & Surrey Countryside using a comprehensive Tulip Roadbook. There is no requirement for a competition licence as there is no element of competition and the entry is open to classics registered before 31.12.95. Entries from “Interesting Future Classics” will be considered on application to the Entries Secretary Jill Collings email: jocollings12@yahoo.co.uk. Already 67 entries have been reserved so if you are interested log onto: https://www.bognor-regis-mc.co.uk/the-12th- regis-tap and enter on-line.
After managing to organise 3 Classic Tours during the Covid Pandemic, BRMC feels that they have the experience to run a safe and secure and enjoyable event. Hopefully by September the pandemic will be something resigned to our past and we will all be able to look forward to a better future.
The experienced organising team from Bognor Regis Motor Club have run over 50 large tours and rallies and will ensure you enjoy a safe, fun day. These tours have a purpose: you enjoy a great day of camaraderie and driving and the charity will benefit from you having entered!
The tour is part of the Historic Rally Car Register’s Scenic Tour Calendar which is sponsored by Hagerty and Monit. https://www.hrcr.co.uk/hrcr-championships/scenic-tours-series/ Log on for the full list of events throughout England & Wales.
