as posted previously I am having water pump issues with the Astura , from various conversations around the world a few things are becoming apparent , no spindles , bearings or impellors new or secondhand
Now i am fortunate that i have a knackered secondhand impellor , a new one that my dad had had cast ( looks much stronger) , a knackered bearing and spindle all to copy .
I am not interested in profit more keeping the costs down , would anyone else be interested in having any of these parts if I have a batch made ? this will be exactly like I have done before with having things made , 1 batch and that's it ! there will be no extra or surplus stock I will only have made what people require .
No idea of costs yet as i've only thought about doing this a few hours ago anyone interested pm me or email me on jamesparry1@btconnect.com

Hi Dave, not had your email sorry, just to keep you updated i have taken the bits to a local engineering company , they are going to price making a batch of 10+ dependent on interest , phosphor bronze bearings under size to be reamed out when pressed in , stainless steel spindles .
I have also contacted 2 foundries about casting new impellors in either bronze or brass , these will be the webbed type in the pictures above , once cast they will have to be machined by the same engineering company .
My dad had also sourced new packing for the pump seal, I will be looking for this through his garages over the next few weeks so save having to research and find an equivalent.
My father sadly passed away earlier this year  and I have inherited his astura , he bought the car as a total wreck in 1979 , photos of it are in the LMC legends section of this forum (Morris Parry), the car has not been used for a few years until recently and I am trying to sort out a few jobs on it including the pump, as soon as i have prices i will post on here or give me your email address and ill email you, j

Good Morning, i've had some prices on parts for the water pumps to be made ,
new impeller would be in the region of £50+ vat  each rough cast in bronze or brass , these would require machining afterwards which would be another £75 + vat per casting

what really goes is the bearing and spindle
Bearing can be supplied in undersized center bore so that when pressed into pump body it can be reamed to 12mm , or if you wish they can be supplied at 12mm id already, these would be £50.50 + vat  each in phosphor bronze PB2
stainless steel impeller shafts would be £40.40+ vat each , the only thing that i wouldn't get done is the drilling across the shaft for the securing pin for the impeller in case there are differences between position and bore of pin used on different peoples cars

to get these prices i need to order 10 of each part, please remember that i will only be doing this once and putting a few into my own personal stock for future (not for re-sale) so that i don't have to do it again! , please let me know if you are interested , i hope to have these made within the next few weeks if enough interest .This is a none profit exercise and i am happy to share the invoice with you all when i get it .

I am also looking into the packing seal which seems to be available on ebay for £3-5 per meter !!!

My personal order will be  1 impeller if we order any and this helps others  , 3 x bearings and  4 spindles , the spindles do seem to give the most trouble wearing where the seal sits

Well done James, I really hope that you get enough interest in order to get it done, because as you say, this a one-off

parts are made , bearing ID is undersize so those who have ordered please let me know if you want it supplied like this or reamed to 12mm , my personal preference is to press the new bearing in then ream to 12mm but the choice is yours, j
