tuning carbs
« on: 07 March, 2022, 04:42:17 PM »
A recommendation:
I recently had my carbs tuned expertly by Tom Airey (Airey tuning).
He's 80 years old, has been tuning carbs for 60 years! A genuine craftsman and authority.
Does it all on his own rolling road at his home outside Winchester.

(He has a few Fulvias in when I was there - so he's clearly known to some of us in the community.)

I'm very pleased to hear you had a good experience at Airey tuning.

I didn't.

I took my Fulvia there after an engine rebuild in the summer,  it was running well but after the run in period I wanted the programmable 123 distributor fine tuning.

He informed me it wouldn't be a problem.

I collected it and he hadn't touched the 123 as he said he didn't have the facilities to do so, no printed curve, the car was only running on 2 cylinders and he wouldn't give me the keys until I had paid in full in cash.

Horrible experience.

No, the engine is being rebuilt at the moment!
