B20 4th series switches
« on: 23 February, 2023, 08:53:47 AM »
Hello,

I have a pretty complete set of switches for my 4th series, and William Jay has made a nice list with the different components and marked the corresponding item with stickers. The wiper switch was missing when I sent my loom to William, but I have since gotten hold of a switch, that I think can be used.

I have two questions I hope you can help me with.

1. The wiper switch, is that simply an on/off switch and can the  switch in the photo be used a wiper switch?

2. The lighting control switch has a broken winding. I guess this is for dimming of the instrument lighting.  Is this possible to repair, and do you have a suggestion as to what kind of wire can be used?

thank you

Never found the dimming function of much use on the light switch - full on is always preferred. That said, it looks repairable (if you forego the last few coils) or perhaps you could just bypass the windings...

Wiper switch looks fine - just an on/off switch.

But others more knowledgeable may have different (better) thoughts...

Thanks Geoff!

Was thinking the same thing regarding the dimming - on my Fulvia I'm always at full on.
