Would anybody have the details ( makers name and number )of the 3 needle bearings that are fitted to the vertical shaft in the steering box. There are 2 fitted on the lower end and 1 on the upper.
In the parts book they are different part numbers, top bearing p/n is 2214359 and the lower two are p/n 2214358.

many thanks.

Nadella DL3020 for the needle bearing at the top of the roller shaft. It is located in the cover of the steering box. Note that it MUST be a full complement bearing. Cost appr. € 6 to 7 . Same for 1C and later boxes.

Nadella DL16200 for the two bottom bearings of the roller shaft. Cost € 10 to 12 each. Same for 1C and later boxes. Some steering boxes have Torrington B1816 or SKF SCE1816, but generally we find the Nadella DL16200 to have less play. Note that the bearings MUST be full complement.

Tim, many thanks for your reply and the information, I was wanting to get the parts before, I start to overhaul and inspect the box.

its unlikely they will need replacing unless the box has run dry (which is also unlikely as they leak predominately at the input shaft half way up the box).

Tim, would fully agree with you, and it looks quite dry. However as I am building the car for historic rallying, I will check all the bits over just to be sure.
Many thanks.
