REGENT STREET MOTOR SHOW CONFIRMED FOR NOVEMBER

• The UK’s biggest free-to-view automotive celebration makes welcome return
• Traditional date restored on eve of RM Sotheby’s London to Brighton Veteran Car Run
• Full spectrum of motoring past, present and future showcased
• World famous shopping destination now offers expanded pavements and even better viewing

The popular Regent Street Motor Show makes a welcome return to central London on Saturday 6 November after the postponement of 2020’s event.

Staged on the capital city’s premier shopping destination between 10:30am and 4:00pm, the single-day Royal Automobile Club event has long been the UK’s best attended free-to-view motor show, regularly attracting around half a million intrigued visitors joining more serious car enthusiasts on a traffic-free Regent Street.

As tradition dictates, next month’s free-to-attend celebration of motoring past, present and future will take place on the eve of the much-loved RM Sotheby’s London to Brighton Veteran Car Run which this year celebrates the 125th anniversary of the original Emancipation Run of 1896.

More than 100 of the extraordinary pre-1905 pioneers that will be setting out for the Sussex coast at day break on Sunday morning will be on glittering display for all to admire in the RM Sotheby’s Veteran Car Zone. RM Sotheby’s will also be staging a prominent London auction of classic and collector’s cars in Waterloo Place, St James’s on the same day.

Adding to the sense of history, back on Regent Street many of the intrepid drivers and passengers attending will be in period dress. What’s more, with coveted concours prizes on offer, their Victorian and Edwardian era ‘horseless carriages’ will be beautifully turned out, too.

At the other end of the motoring spectrum, the Regent Street Motor Show always provides a fascinating insight into the fast-evolving future of powered personal transportation with displays of innovative vehicles propelled by the latest generation of electric, hydrogen and PHEV technology.

Bridging the gap between cars dating right back to the dawn of motoring and the very latest automotive generation, this year’s showcase will feature classic icons representing each of the interim decades.

Other well-liked Regent Street Motor Show attractions making a return include live performances from West End Kids as well as other activities to amuse younger visitors.

Further enhancing the visitor experience for those of all ages, the pavements in Regent Street have been significantly widened since the previous show in 2019. These expanded sidewalks not only provide less crowded viewing areas but also more seating while tree planting has been introduced to boost biodiversity and further enhance the historic John Nash designed facades.

“We are delighted to welcome the return of the Regent Street Motor Show,” confirmed Nick Wigley, CEO of event organiser, Goose Live Events. “Staged right in the heart of our capital city, the Regent Street Motor Show has become one of this country’s top car-themed spectacles and we will be celebrating the continuing evolution of motoring on Regent Street this November”.
