Has the original ‘Dunlopillo’ foam in your front seat bases deteriorated? A simple test is to lift the base out of the seat frame and feel the foam through circular access holes, if the foam is brittle and crumbles then this is the sign the foam has lost its integrity.

I have approached a local foam supplier ( https://interfoam.co.uk ) who happens to be one of the UK’s premier providers of high quality, moulded polyurethane foam products and are happy to look into reproducing these bases.

The bases will be made from Polyurethane Moulded Foam. Manufactured and tested to FMVSS 302. Comfort and density will match automotive industry standard and calibrated to be the same as the original Fulvia bases.

Prices would likely to be no more than £70 per base.
I am looking to have a batch produced and wanted to ask if anyone would be interested?

Thank you, I'd certainly be interested in one, but is it only for Coupe?
As I think it might be different for series 1 Berlina.

Hi Brian, from what I can see from images online the Berlina seat bases do look different to the Coupe so it may not be suitable, but I am sure the experts amoung us here can confirm.

Many thanks

Hello Andrea, yes shipping to Italy is not an issue if your friend is happy to pay for the shipping.
Thats great, I now have 5 people interested, the more numbers I get the more this becomes viable.

Thanks

A few years ago, I had the seat squabs of our GTE re-foamed by a local trimmer here in NE Italy. He did a lovely job cutting the foam from a block and completely  restitched the squabs as well for €100 for the 2 but funnily enough the new foam was too stiff and Jacky and I both sat a bit too high. Some modification was subsequently needed.
Can I therefore suggest you do some sort of 'dummy run ' with one squab to double check you dont have this problem. Specifications  for foam are one thing but comfort and location of seating are paramount  to driving pleasure.

Hi Chris, noted and yes I will of course be testing the prototype if this becomes viable. Although something tells me everyone will have an opinion and like most things you cannot please everyone. Interfoam can of course make the foam to different tolerances and I would be edging towards the softer more comfort side of things.
