63 Flavia Coupe

« on: 29 May, 2021, 07:49:47 PM »

Re; 63 Flavia Coupe.  Front side lights/indicators.

I have the round type lens and chrome bezels fitted at the front.  I’m not quite sure how to remove these.  The chrome bezel seems to rotate and has a hole which is positioned at the bottom.  Does this hole when correctly positioned line up with a securing screw?  Do I keep unscrewing the bezel?  Is the whole unit fixed at the back?

Advice gratefully received please.

Cheers,  Peter

Hi Peter,

I see you're yet to receive a response on this & although I do not know the details of your model Flavia, I can say that on the Coupe & most circular type lights & bezels, they're installed with a circa 10-12mm slot & a lock recess. If one rotates it anticlockwise by such distance & pulls it towards yourself (forwards) does it release ok?

Apologies if this advice is incorrect- I'm simply going by what I've seen on other cars of the period..

Good luck & all the best,

Adam

They may be more like Flaminia ones where the bezel has spring clips that engage with the aperture in the body and the light unit is mounted on gimbals at either side which fit into spring clips either side of the aperture.

Try gently prizing the bezel off to see if it pulls out against spring clips.
