Hi
Does anyone know where/if  I can acquire the metal strip / rubber seal which is screwed to the door aperture/ threshold and up to which the bottom of the door abuts?
Thanks

If someone can get me a short section (2 or 3 inches) I can see what the minimum order and tooling cost would be

I know of someone else who is looking

I've done some initial costings and had a quote for tooling and production, so if we can get a firm commitment for 10 orders then it could work ..... each car needs 3m - 1.5m/side

I'll drop everyone a line with very, very approximate pricing !

Hello Simon,
me too, my car is lacking this detail.
(I already joined in on the exterior trim strips as well as the fuel pump....)
Looking forward to receiving more details,
many thanks for your effort!!!

Hi Simon
This sounds great and is exactly what I’m looking for.Is the rubber seal obtainable for the metal extrusion?
Thankyou for your efforts

Best

I think that the seal is available in Italy at Elvezio:

 https://www.elvezio.com/it/lancia/lancia-aprilia/guarnizioni-lancia-aprilia/guarnizione-vano-porta-inferiore-lancia-aprilia.html

I have not bought this so cannot guarantee it is 100%correct

At 32 euros plus vat p&p etc , seems reasonable ! - Maybe I'll ask for a sample ....

Hi Simon
Certainly looks right. Probably best to get a sample to be certain before producing the metal channel.
It all sounds very promising. Thanks for all your help.
I also think this is something which plenty of people will want.I am surprised there aren’t more Aprilias on the road. My background is VSCC in terms of clubs and I’m amazed more members of that club don’t want a prewar Aprilia because they do everything so well and you tend to stay dry - even with the seals missing!
They need the seals really and it gives something for the carpet to come up to. Carpets in the rear and on the cill are another job to do in my car

Quick update .....not forgotten !

The seal sample has arrived from Italy and the section of the aluminium should be arriving very soon, then quick check of everything and I can start the production run

I am sorry but due to new restrictions and uncertainties following Brexit, mainly to do with VAT & duties, I am going to have to abandon this project (and others) for the time being

The problem arises from my living in France and having anything made in the UK will now have import duties applied and it makes these projects nonviable

Hopefully there may be a way round this in the future, but at the moment it is too complicated
