My windscreen wipers work fine when car is not switched on, however when the car is running they do not switch off even when the switch is in off position. This has lead me to believe its an earthing issue, of which I have found this damaged wire which is under the rubber bush in the picture. I am looking to remove this rubber bush to repair the wire and ensure its earthed correctly but having difficulty - can anyone advise on how to remove it and locate the threaded bolt?

It looks as if someone played with the circuit in the past. Please remember that when you turn the wipers on, you don't switch on its positive supply but you actually put the circuit to ground. If the suspected wire is responsible for your problem, just connect it temporarily (with a scotchlock) to a good chassis ground and see if this helps. If not, further investigation is necessary.
