Old Lancista

« on: 10 July, 2020, 09:54:34 AM »

Good morning all,
I have recently emailed the Centro Storico Fiat to have the production data for my car, a Fulvia Coupè S2 1972.
This is their reply:

..."With reference to your request I inform you that there is no information on your car, we are sorry but unfortunately in the past the Lancia Museum, which managed the Lancia archives, did not keep all the production registers, or other lists, of   Lancia Fulvia Coupè 1.3 (series 818.630)
Best regards

I find it unbelievable and, frankly, puzzling that there is no production data available from the Lancia Museum for a whole series of cars!

Has anyone experienced the same?
Any suggestions on how to get this information?
Happy driving!

I am afraid this is old news. Fulvia seemed to have been a victim of the transition and all production records were lost in a flood I seem to remember. It is bizarre but that is it!!

I had the same result in November 2017

Dear Mr Prove,

With reference to your request I inform you that there is no information on your car, we are sorry but unfortunately in the past the Lancia Museum, which managed the Lancia archives, did not keep all production registers or other lists of Lancia Fulvia Coupé (Series 818.631).

It is an unfortunate fact of life that past records may not be available to us ......
Records of work undertaken here in Farnborough by the R.A.E. over the years 1914-1970.s
many were destroyed, but many were saved by the FAST museum. Smiley
In the case of your Fulvia, I have read about a flood that took many of FCA.s records.
Just wondering if Wim Oude Weernink may have some info?......

I suspect Wim has information of general production but not individual models. The club has enough for dating a car......

What are you looking for?
Build sheets that I found a few years ago can give you the year it was built, not registered, if you have your model and chassis number.
I distributed this at the time, and Tim Speechley who was at Fiat UK, sent a copy to Lancia's in Turin.
If you want specifications etc then as Tim says Weerninck's 'La Lancia' is the place to look, I have all 3 editions and find the 2nd edition printed in 1994 is best, or you can Pm me, and I'll copy it for you, but it's well worth buying.
