Has anyone found a way to replace the original blade-type "filter" with a replaceable cartridge? I am thinking of making a new cap to the oil filter cavity, in which to fit a more modern cartridge. Or perhaps someone has fitted a full flow system, using a modern cartridge? Peter

Simon, very correct of you about the photos but please share them with whoever may be interested. I have done my machining but will gladly provide a sketch and the other details of what I have done. Mike

Several of us have done an adaptation for the Augusta which uses a Renault 5 filter on an aluminium intermediary mount and I had wondered if this was the same as on the Aprilia as my vaned original has no actuating rods. I have not got round to examining the parts diagrams to see if is do-able.

I'd like to see the Augusta version as well if anyone has a drawing or picture. Mike

I can try to put on pictures and ink drawings of the Augusta one - works brilliantly. Had a look at S2 Aprilia handbook and that is different as it seems built into crankcase and not a bolt on.

Thanks Brian. having just dismantled the rocker gear of the Augusta I found that the rocker shaft had a fair amount of crud inside and that the cams and follower faces on the rockers were quite scored so better oil filtration would be a good plan.

Brian - I found pictures of Dale Hick's version in the Augusta Newsletter and after a chat with him and some drawings I have the info needed to make one. Just have to get a large chunk of aluminium and start metal mowing! Thankyou for your offer. Miike

Good. I had found my old pencil drawings and was thinking how to make the inner oil ways clearer. Now back to the Aprilia.............!

Dear Mike, Have you been able to make surther progress on your Aprilia oil filter? I'd be very interested, as would others, I gather. I have been unable to reach your email. Peter Blenk
